In 2009 Claire established the Elsy&Vine label selling quirky, colourful pieces for the home. She continues to experiment, driven by the now, inspired by current trends mixed with the old, Claire’s influences and outcomes are constantly evolving. Although she has a very distinct style, Claire likes to take an organic approach to each project and be challenged by the possible outcomes, although inevitably it always come back round to ‘home’. Claire is currently developing her interest in limited lifestyle ‘collections’ and is exploring a wide mix of handprinting, embroidery and traditional skills like hand hooked rag rugs mixed with modern materials such as lazercut ply and perspex to create a range of framed wall pieces, cushions, rugs and lampshades as well as one-off concept pieces.
Moving forward, Claire is developing her public commission portfolio. Recent commissions include shop windows and the Eastleigh Lord Mayors Christmas Grotto.
Claire also works part time as an Arts & Culture development officer for a Hampshire based community school.
